NEF commemorates Edison sesquicentennial
11 February 1997 marks the sesquicentennial of Thomas Edison's birth. The National Energy Foundation (NEF), in cooperation with the Edison Electric Institute, will publish a new poster to commemorate this important event. "Electrotechnology: A Light on the Past, Present, and Future," is the Edison-Electrotechnology instructional poster that will appear as an insert in the March 1997 issue of the national Science Teachers Association's Science Scope journal. The 23" x 35" poster is a unit of instruction in presentation form, including classroom learning activities, prepared for grade 5-10 teachers. NEF will also be developing ancillary instructional materials to accompany the poster.
Celebrating its own twentieth anniversary, NEF is seeking partners to join promotion, distribution, and implementation activities, help celebrate the Edison Sesquicentennial in 1997, and use the event as a springboard for better science and technology education.
