The 5 January 1997 issue of The Trenton Times contains an article about electricity consumers who are willing to pay higher "green rates" for electricity that is generated from windmills, solar bgenerators, or other alternative, nonpolluting sources. These "green rates" represent percentage `increases over regular rates ranging from 17% to 23%. What increase in percentage would you be willing to pay for your electricity in order to eliminate the pollution that comes from generating it?
