This time around we have mail in both s- and e-mail bags to share. Florence Juilllerat wrote, "I think the newsletter is superb. I find so many useful ideas for my teaching in each issue." In a similar vein, Bob Bliss wrote, "The Newsletter continues to be a basic resource for all thoughtful teachers." s- & e-mail to the Editors: Our Readers Respond
In the e-mail department, Kate Baker and Roger Summerhayes wrote, "Nice to be able to get you online -- getting the newsletter in St. Croix meant a long delay." Sy Rifkin wrote that "The article on 'Mining STS Nuggets on the Internet' by John D. White was first rate." And "As number 640," wrote Arthur Lebofsky, "I will now try to get that number increased by sharing your web site url with the college students I am currently teaching. One can not share a finer resource to meet increasing National and State Science Standards: to ensure relevance of science content as one works to enable student construction of knowledge, no better strategy than STS can be employed." Art wrote on 10 February. Thanks to him and others like him, the number of visitors to our web site has since more than doubled!
